Meeting Times

Kenya

8 – 18 January 2010
By Ps Christine Phang

I praise God for a very successful missions trip to Nairobi Kenya from between 8 to 18 of January 2010.  The two main reasons for this trip is to host a party for the orphanage and secondly to graduate 10 church planters in Beni who had successfully completed their training.

In this short trip, the Lord enabled me to accomplish the following :-

1.  Peach Humanitarian Christian Centre (Orphanage)
- Met with 16 staff members for fellowship and encouragement and gave each of them a month bonus and presents.
- Had the New year party – GT Klang sponsored the party – chicken and rice.  Children were given gifts – new pencils/
notebooks and orphans had a care package which included new toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and towels.
- Replace 44 mattresses and beddings.
- Follow-up on Lucy’s (director) health situation – grateful that no surgery was required.

2.  Met with Congolese pastor, Bethuel
- GT Klang support of RM500 a month.
- Good report of the graduating class.  Ten will be graduating and have ten separate preaching points.
- Strategize future trips to Congo, possibly end of 2010.
- Recruitment of another 40 students.
- Help firm up networking with ICM Malaysia to get more financial support.
- Orphanage sponsored 20 chickens to help with poultry business as income generating project.
- Help arrange for other missionaries to be involved in Congo – especially medical teams.

3.   River of God church
- Preached for Sunday Service.
- Received RM2000 towards BCM missions Friday service.

4.   Explored ways to send money to Congo.

5.    Reconnected some regular donors to the orphanage.

It was such a joy to sell all the ministries we have been involved in Kenya thrive in our absence.  The Lord’s Kingdom is being built continuously by the wonderful and committed leaders we have helped raised.  I am most excited to see the work in Congo harvesting such great results with ten preaching points started as a result of the training.  Indeed the harvest is plentiful and we praise God that workers are continually being trained and sent to bring in the harvest.
